Top Tips from Woof Report Readers

Where do the best dog tips and tricks come from? That’s easy, our Woof Report readers, of course. Thank you for sending us your doggie tips. We read every single one and love hearing from you. Here are just a few of our favorites from the mailbag.

Bath Buster
“If your dog is a little hard to bathe, smear some peanut butter on the spout in the tub and he will lick away at it while you begin the bath. If you have someone helping you, have them add a little more during bath time and before you know it, the dogs are clean and happy!”
- Diane and Poo

Black Beauties
“Shelter dogs with darker fur colors often have a hard time finding permanent homes. To encourage appreciation of black dogs, Pam Townsend, Vice President of the SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George’s County, created a photographic tribute to black dogs everywhere. Black is Beautiful: A Celebration of Dark Dogs features 34 gorgeous photos complete with captions – all for the love of black dogs. The book is available for purchase online and all proceeds support the SPCA/HS.”

Butter Them Up
“Do you need a quick, non-toxic way to remove tree sap from your dog’s fur? Butter works like an instant solvent on wet or dry fur.  Lather on a few rounds of butter followed by a warm water rinse. As a bonus, your pooch will smell like a buttery cookie afterward, and it won’t harm him to lick off the remains.”
- Stacey and Sadie (Sadie, sap and butter-free, is pictured above)

Match & Last
“For a matching leash and collar that your dog won’t chew through or destroy, check out Ella Dish. Durable and super stylish, these top drawer choices are pricey, but worth the splurge for polished pups.”

Having a Ball
“Cuz balls are every pup’s top pick here at Pooches Playtime. Chewy and safe for big and small dogs, these squeaky balls are always a hit.”
