Not that you need an excuse for a spree at Bloomie’s, but we’ve got a good one. How about this? Bay Area shelter animals need you to shop. And thanks to the San Francisco and Stanford Shopping Center Bloomingdale’s stores, you can help support the SF/SPCA and the Peninsula Humane Society/SPCA when you participate in their Shopping Benefit Day this Thursday, October 23rd.

Helping out adorable animals just by shopping? We say knock out your whole holiday gift list in one day. Did we mention the storewide entertainment, fashion events and whopping 15-20% savings off Bloomingdale’s regular and sale priced merchandise (with limited exclusions, of course) on the day of the event?

Just buy a $10.00 ticket at Bloomingdale’s on the day of the event to get the big discounts and 100% of the proceeds go to the participating charities, including the animal shelters, UCSF Children’s Hospital, San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, Project Open Hand and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of San Francisco to name a few.

While you’re at the San Francisco store, you and your dog are welcome at the SF/SPCA’s cocktail party on Level 1 from 6-8 p.m. And at the Stanford store, join the PHS/SPCA for a Pet Costume Party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

If you’ve already received an invitation from the SF/SPCA, PHS or other another charity, make sure to present the $5 donation coupon enclosed with your invite when entering Bloomingdale’s on the big day. For every card received, the SPCA of your choice will get $5 and, for the charity that receives the most cards over 350 –the jackpot, a $5,000 donation.

A limited number of complimentary invitations are still available (read on for details.) Shop for the love of dogs, of cats, and well (we’ll just say it), Bloomie’s! See you there.
