Christmas morning’s coming, Hanukkah is here. Do all your pups and their people have something to open? Here are a few easy surprises you can throw together in two shakes of a doggies’ tail. Minimal shopping necessary.

Pup Mag Subscription. With so many fun-to-read magazines dedicated to sharing life with dogs, why not order a subscription for the pet person on your list? Our favorites: Bark Magazine, Modern Dog Magazine and Fido Friendly

Mutt & Me. Pick a photo frame (try stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond) and add a photo of the prince or princess of the household. Or frame a photo of your friend with her top dog. No photo? Just add a cute placeholder note so she can frame her favorite shot.

Treats from Your Kitchen. Visit WoofReport.com for super easy recipes for tasty Peanut Butter Treats or Fur Baby Favorites you can bake for your doggie friends. Wrap the treats in cellophane bags and tie them with festive bows.

Basket of Goodies. Create a themed gift basket for a pup’s holiday goodies. Pile it high with anything from treats and healthy snacks to chew and squeaky toys. Think about the furry recipient and personalize it. Is he crazy for tennis balls? Give him a basket filled with them and topped with a big bow. Is he a pup-on-the-go? Make it travel themed with a collapsible travel bowl, grooming wipes, and a few travel-sized treat packages.

Get creative and wrap the items up in functional packaging instead of a basket. Try a dog biscuit container, dog dish, or tote bag.

Donate to Pets in Need. Make a gift donation to a shelter or rescue organization in honor or memory of a pet person; you can do this with a simple phone call or online. Then share the news in a pet-themed card with your best wishes for the holidays.

Gift of Time. Make a snazzy coupon for dog-sitting, walking or washing a fuzzy friend. It’s a great way to spend time with dogs you love and help out their people too.

Thank you to Amy, Stella and Stanley for the photo.
