
It’s Halloween and everyone is getting treats. Why not whip up a batch of Halloween-shaped dog treats for the furriest little monsters of the night? Read on for this simple recipe.
A beagle dressed as a bagel, a lab in a lab coat, the canine community takes to the streets this Halloween. So what will you offer when the doorbell rings? We’ve got just the thing. It’s quick, easy, and one less Halloween leftover to tempt you for weeks to come.
Cheesy Halloween Dog Treats
- 1 ½ cups of whole wheat flour
- ½ cup of cornmeal
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 1/3 cup of safflower oil
- 4 tsp. chicken broth
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well.
Expect a very stiff dough and add a bit of broth if needed.
Roll the dough onto a floured board to 1/2″ thickness.
Cut into shapes like pumpkins, bats and ghosts – or grab the cookie cutters.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 12 minutes (or until golden ) in a 400-degree oven.
