Find all the details you need about pet-friendly travel online, such as information about any extra fees that may be required, dog weight restrictions, and more. Once you decide on your accommodations, do confirm the pet policy directly to be sure it hasn’t changed. Here are good sites to use to begin your research:

While Pets Welcome lists pet friendly accommodations of all types, including campgrounds and B&B locations, what’s most impressive is their comprehensive listing of nationwide hotel chains. Along with the chains’ general pet policies, you can search for specific properties. The site also has a special category to help you find those accommodations which welcome large dogs, which is often a challenge.

At Vacation Rentals by Owner, search over 140,000 rental properties worldwide, and look for the purple paw icon within your results to find those that are pet-friendly.

Dog-Friendly Hotel Chains

Pet guests welcomed at most Westin Hotels get to indulge in their very own “Heavenly Dog Beds.” They’ll also receive a welcome kit with information on nearby areas for exercise and other goodies like treats, and food-and-water bowls. There are no pet fees, and the individual properties vary on whether pets under 40 or 80 pounds are permitted.

At Lowes Hotels‘ “Lowes Loves Pets” program, your pup will be waited on hand and paw, with gourmet room-service menus, pet-walking and pet-sitting services amenities, treats, specialized bedding and more.

Any number of pets are welcome to stay with you at all 39 Kimpton Hotels without any size or weight restrictions and at no extra charge. Add this to the special attention and pet-friendly services and amenities they offer, and you’re all set.

At select Hilton Hotels, furry guests receive a travel tote filled with organic treats and other goodies, and in-room amenities like a Hilton pet bed, food-and-water bowls and a listing of local pet services and activities.

Vacationing pets and their owners will love the Victorian beauty and Texas hospitality of The Driskill Hotel.
